Veronique extended a complimentary late check-out for me, which was kudos to her really! I was undecided for my return leg of my trip through Mauritius in about 10 days time on where to stay, but I know for sure that I wouldn't be choosing anywhere else, but Auberge Aquarella. I managed to capture a beautiful sunrise photo which I'm rather proud of.

Needless to same, I woke up with a start the next morning when I saw light peeking through the curtains and i jumped immediately to my little balcony facing the sea. Featuring hire of car as well as free Wi-Fi throughout the property, Villa Aquarella is set in Mahebourg, 0.9 km from Mahebourg Museum. She explained the various facilities and brought up some wonder local Vanilla Tea. She showed me personally to my room and though it was late at night, I was already enamored of the venue.

Arrived late but was picked up on time by the driver that Veronique, the owner, arranged. Because of my shoot-in and shoot-out one nighter stay in Mauritius, I chose Auberge Aquarella due to its proximity to the Airport. I think the way we were treated by Veronique was appalling and not having access to a travel agent or brochure in a foriegn country, never again would we book our flights and accomodation independantly.… This quickly changed when the driver asked if we had heard from Veronique the owner of Auberge Acqarella, we said no to which he informed us that the place was closed due to family issues.He said she had contacted us but her e-mail was returned which we found very hard to believe as we had communicated a few times since making our booking independantly.We did not like the accomodation she had arranged for us elsewhere and were therefore stranded thousands of miles from home having travelled for approx 30 hours!I remembered another hotel nearby who where fully booked but could not have been more helpful.We were given refreshing towels and drinks while the receptionist spent nearly one hour trying to find us accomodation which she did & arranged transport with their own vehicle and driver to take us there.We cannot thank the lady at Astreoa beach resort enough for all she did & if ever we return to Mauritus that is where we would stay.
